All the numbers punched into the 105mm High Explosive projectile are inspection and manufacture codes. These codes are lost to time and it will be difficult to decipher. The most important indicator is the 1942 date which verifies the round was fired during WW2. -

From the shoulder patch, I'm inclined to believe engineer reg in the 13th inf div, but you would not "normally" have a Div number (as opposed to a regimental number) on a collar disk unless it was for a subunit like div trains that used the same number as the division. The “Navy” pocket patch is directly embroidered. Don’t know about the CB insignia. My son has a few sets of these in the spare room. While I dislike any Cammo, I sort of liked these. -

Wonderful items with background info. I love that Sub Base PH TH ashtray! I've been to the sub base at Pearl back in '67. My sister dated a sailor on the Seawolf SSN-575. That lighter is the first I've seen that plays a song. Great finds! Thanks. Steve -

The one I saw for $20 may have been named, i didn't look at it very closely but I saw something about England on it. Also had a beat up duffel bag and some sort of rolled up tarp looking thing with it that neither me nor the guy selling it knew what it was. Guy said he found it in a barn. -

I’d love to find a barracks foot locker in mint condition with all the hardware- I have found over the years that this is easier said than done. I also love examples that are named/ID’d to someone, or repurposed from another type of container….chances are that what you’ll find is likely unique.
