I have a signed letter she wrote to a mother whose son had died from his wounds in August 1863. -

The lot number for your can gives you the contract year for the ammo. WMA 18 Mxxx The 18 is 2018. Most every "modern" ammunition Lot Number will have the same format. -

I agree. However, it is pretty wide spread including some South Korean troops. That's why I'm wondering if there was an official directive or program or any other info. It seems counter intuitive to take rounds off of a stripper clip and put them in a bandoleer. -

Hi all figured I’d make a separate post for this grouping. I’ve been after a CBI bush jacket for a while and glad to finally acquire one. Lt. James M Wells served with Air Service Command’s 1st Radio Squadron performing radio upgrades on aircraft in the CBI theater. This grouping was acquired via eBay from the grandson. I unfortunately missed his A-2 and some nice CBI patches prior to me getting the group. All in all happy with what I was able to keep together. Complete group: Well’s Bush jacket, service coat, tans (unfortunately rough but with a gorgeous 14th AF patch) musette bag, misc items and photos. Direct embroidered insignia Wells wearing the same jacket -

I occasionally find six color in trift stores, only found one with a patch but the name was removed. Think a airsofter must have used a one point since I found a BB in the pocket. -

https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/371780-questions-about-old-ammo-cans/ From the info in that topic it seems like there's a way to tell by the numbers? I have this one that I would like to know when it's from and also I would like to know in case I see any older ones for sale. -

I would research DSC’s awarded to enlisted men for actions in The Philippines in 1941. Possibly became an officer after WW2. -
