Using his name as CO, there does seem to be a connection with the Land Warfare Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, it seems that they contracted some of the work out to Battelle Research out in Ohio. Also, the ACTIV unit was composed mostly of civilians according to COL Richard Clarkson (CO) final Report from 1974. -

Yes unforunately the story is lost to time. Should add my store has a diamond tester and they are real diamonds. Came from a formerly well to do family so probably a wonderful gift for the Mrs. I'll see if I can get any more info the next time I speak to them. -

Yep, I know the two involved and it doesn't surprise me. That said, there were only 6 RF-86s and they were flown by the 15th Tac Recon Sq. under Project Honey Bucket. So it is a rare one. On the other hand, I got this one for $800 less about 15 years ago. There is also an RF-80 version. Randy -

Ken is correct. It's real and that is the right person. At least that's for sure who the pants belonged to (as those are marked) and more than likely the jacket as well. Also, I'm not an expert on WWI Marine dress uniforms but I wouldn't pay that much for that particular uniform. It's pretty ratty for that price as far as I'm concerned. Others may have a different opinion. -
