Hello to everyone :) I am calling out thus seller on eBay in the hopes, that nobody falls for this. Although I am sure, that the vast majority of forum members will know, that these are fake, I am putting this out here to warn New Vietnam collectors. I stumbled upon this seller about a week ago and tried reporting him, but it didn't work as he was selling obvious fakes. He offers two jackets. One is the common Sturm repro with the "Ryan" name tape and 1st Cav SSI, which you can find on Amazon for 60 bucks or so. He offensichtlich it for 110 (bidding) with best offer. I asked the seller ferra1970 about its authenticity and he said, that he wasn't sure, but hoped so. The other jacket he offers looks like an RDF og107 jacket on the first picture, but he uses other sellers' pictures for close-ups. I will attach some pictures, so you can see for yourself. Every new collector beware and if anyone has any tips on how to report him, so that he will get banned, please tell me.   PS: I do not know if the pictures will be shown in the intended order, but the jungle jacket, which hopefully shows up as the 4th picture, has a white wooden floor as a background. This is an original NOS from a French seller, with whom I have made business in the past. ferra1970 just pulled the original seller's picture from eBay and used it for his scam.

So I found my very very first piece of surplus. It’s an old US marked compass I found in an antique store for $25 in Waco TX. (I think said store has gone out of business) compasses aren’t really my wheelhouse so I was wondering if anybody could tell me what I have?

I have some of the Saudi ALICE gear. It is usually marked SAA and contract dated to 1976.  Tim

I have a sterling marked pair with H R Newcome & Co NYC marked on the side. They also have the pins mounted with the pat. numbered set up. The one in question had a brass looking front assuming the silver finish wore off. the back is marked " R Newcome & Co NYC no sterling marking and the H is missing in the name. It is also marked in the center as opposed to off on the side.   Anyway, I was hoping that someone could shed light on this for me. Is this pin earlier than the HR Newcome sterling marked? Prior to companies having to stop using brass to conserve it for the war effort? This was just a thought of mine!   Thanks in advance,   Mark

Thats odd. So if I’m understanding, maybe things aside from the belts and canteen covers are private purchases?

Springfield Mark 1 1120930 which indicates 1919. I have Brophy and Poyer, but still am unsure on the correct dates for the two cartouches in the shot I've included. DAL- David A. Lyle. I've only ever seen that on older rifles. The SA/ J.F. Coyle is a configuration that seems to be WW2 and just before. My '03 has a 5-42 barrel and three circle P stamps under the wrist, so it's been through refurb a few times. Books contradict each other a bit, like DAL in box is 1917-1919, but other book says 1916-1942, is there a SA/DAL out there somewhere? Anyway just curious.

. Typo Correction,   Hello everyone I have to correct a mistake in the credit I gave in the post relating to the Longest Yarn, the air freight company that carried out this magnificent gesture should have read as UNITED CARGO, I do apologise for this mistake.       " The American company Global Cargo airfreighted these 120 cases to and from America in support of the veterans charity.
