A very nice find. It's always interesting to find packets of parts, or any parts still in their original packaging after all these years. -

From vietnamgear.com- "Army Concept Team In Vietnam – ACTIV was established in Saigon in November 1962 to evaluate and test the suitability of new equipment for use in Vietnam." "Spurioius" information or just an obscure organization? -

MacKinlay Kantor (1904-1977), author/screenwriter, WWII war correspondent in London - the photo below shows him as an officer in 1950 but is probably a gag or Hollywood costume -

I have recently upgraded and re-organized my M. S. G. DUI collection. So here are two photos of the collections. The first photo shows the general collection of all but one unit to include at the top a shoulder patch of the First Service Command and the Authorized M. S. G. shoulder patch. The second grouping shows many of the same DUI's but with various hallmarks, attachments and other oddities. Enjoy and comments are, as always, welcomed. -

Is that not the 1918-pattern winter aviation service uniform? Gold buttons, "soft" shoulder boards. -

If you're near enough I find lots of stuff in trift stores around north east Alabama. Though you you usually have to go multiple times. Also I remembered that there is a army surplus store here http://Flea Traders Paradise Mall, 1907 Winfield Dunn Pkwy, Sevierville, TN 37876. Seems there still open though i can barely remember it since it's been a long time since I was there. There is also the smokey mountain knife works there though I don't know what they have, but they may be a bit pricey. If you're ever in Alabama I made this list, Collinsville trade day can definitely be good sometimes. https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/418694-alabama-a-few-places-i-know-of/ -

I just remembered two good places in the tri cities area. Akins Americana and war room relics which are both on the same street are good places. Although some items can be a little pricey
