Here's a real rare view of actual foliage being used in WWII in a front line setting rather then training back in the ZI, small clumps of dead grass applied to a wide mesh allied net of this 4th Inf Div GI in Normandy. -

In 30 years active, I never saw branch insignia worn above the name tag area (right chest). Any ideas when and if this was an authorized location? Thanks in advance. -

From what can be seen it looks good and regulation; likely regular army and dating from 1898-1902 period, Tailored for an artillery corporal which was not uncommon. -
