Early Division named Completion Shooting badges in Silver named to the same individual are not real common. Also if someone "researched" him and he had an interesting career it can add value or the buyer may have had other medals etc that were to the same Marine. Add in its ebay and the competition to win an item goes up and Im guessing the big bids were in the last few minutes or seconds of the auction. Also, with ebay I have seen more and more items not getting paid for or people having a ghost bidder running things up for them as well but as we notice ebay sales prices seems to be what people consider market price when its really just a case of tossing money at something until you win it. I have repeatedly stated that in today's collecting field its not what its "worth" it what someone will pay. Looks like this is the same and was a Gunny Sgt that passed in 1949 and from Minnesota. Buried in San Diego . Had a son who also served in the Marine Corps with VMF 234 during Korea. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/3423885/dean-rosing-penley -

A SUPER Nice custom rack on an AF blue jacket. The top row has been erroneously added as there is already a Nat. Def medal ribbon in the stack. The AF Commendation medal is out of order and precedence so it just makes it ugly. Not wild about the CIB. I believe the CIB is an addition as well and not kosher for the jacket. The Airman's Medal is quite a nice award to top it all off. Not many of those awarded. -

Hello everybody. So on the bay there was 2 silver shooting badges. and they went for 1,282.00 WOW. Is there something special or have we gone crazy. I just can't understand the hike in this. Anybody know why. Or has bidding gotten out of hand. Thanks Jim -

Thank you Steve. My wife and I are Tinkerer's. Only God could've arranged for me to meet and eventually marry the woman of my dreams. She's amazing and one-of-a-kind. I am so Blessed! I've now lived in Oklahoma way longer than my home state of Arizona so I officially call myself an Okie. Who'd have thought. -

I found this guy's last name, but I don't really understand the numbers in the trousers; none of them match the serial numbers for the soldiers. Please let me know if any of y'all smart folk can figure it out. Surname: Kaluzne I know it looks a little funky. I tried Kalugne, but nothing popped up on https://www.wwii-enlistment.com/. However, Kaluzne worked with 4 results. -

Whoa, that's great. Yes, they may have been officers he met on his tours that he probably thought it would help to have their names just in case he needed somebody with some pull in the military. Thank you so much! 😀 -

SOURCE: Newspapers.com Another newspaper articles dated June 1943 was about his promotion to 1st Lt with the 108th Coast Artillery at the Aircraft Artillery Training Center at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts. Regarding Hale D Richie, there was a newspaper article out of Wichita, KS indicating that he was in the Army Air Corps Reserve and was trained as a Squadron Engineering Officer at Chanute, Illinois. A later article in 1943 indicated he was with an Engineering Detachment of the Army Air Corps. So, it kind of looks like at least three of these people listed in the address book were from a variety of military organizations seemingly unrelated to each other. These people could've just been who the diary owner knew or were friends with. At least this is a start. -

Since it’s rusted it’s hard to see but I can feel that it’s punched and not drilled when running my finger against it . I feel like if it was a replaced ega then it would be easy to remove it but it’s stuck on there. I believe it was polished more recently before they added a clear coat to the whole thing
