One kid got the sword, one kid got the scabbard- and then the sword fight began!

Hi all,    I can’t believe my luck lately. I found this for a whopping $45 at the local indoor “flea market” (ie. junk store). Missing the CIB (as usual) and one of the infantry blue collar disc backings.  Astounding that its a silver star winner, but I have no idea who it could be. Even more, a 32nd infantry regiment man (same as me from 2012-2015)   does anyone have a spare 1950’s infantry disc backing they could spare?

I agree it's a 1902 that has been abused and I agree probably by some kid. Too bad

What else military do you collect?

Pre-WW2 U.S. Army Officers M1902 Dress Sword. Sold by N.S. Meyer and put out by Colonial Cutlery. Interesting enough I have an identical example that is engraved to a Lt. In the U.S. 15th Infantry Regiment. The 15th Infantry Regiment spent a considerable time stationed in Tientsin, China before WW2. Colonial Cutlery was founded in 1926, so the sword dates no earlier than that year. 

I would doubt it. If it was used at a military academy, it would not be abused like that at an academy. An academy would not allow that kind of damage to its stock... I dont know how long it has been since Americans last used swords in combat? Before WW1.... ? Spanish American War? But I would bet it was before your sword was made....   More likely it was abused by someones kid or grand kids playing war in the back yard... Just my opinion. I do like it.  

Just got this 17th/101st Airborne Jacket that's named to C L I F F O R D - B E R G S T R O M of Company C, 466th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion. Looks like he made a jump during Operation Varsity. I'm not really a Airborne collector, so I'm just curious on the going rate for a jacket like this.
