How about this one? Same deal with this one , can find a few on ebay listed as military but the only information I saw suggested it could be navy. -

Nevermind on the ID! I believe the H I'm seeing in the cap is a faded A which would match to Mrs. Moore's husband, Alonzo Renfroe Moore. A newspaper article with his obituary states he was a B-24 pilot. -

Greetings all. I thought some of you would like to see these displays. All WW2 except for the green flight helmet on the left under the M3 flak helmet. Thats the last post war leather flight helmet with comms. I have an A11 for it, I just have not swapped it in. Enjoy! -

Picked up this small grouping of caps off Facebook Marketplace last month. Unfortunately, they're in rough condition. The brown & cadet cap can for sure be reformed (need some advice on how to do that) but the true Bancroft flighter in tan is just melted on the inside. I believe the plastic, or whatever the liner was made out of, melted in the heat & is now all stuck together. The brown crusher has the name of H. Moore, I assume to be the husband of Virginia T. Moore, whose resignation document also came from the same trunk the grouping was found with. Unfortunately, the seller said he didn't have any other stuff that went with it. Looking for help on ID'ing the soldier & needing advice on how to properly care for these caps and hopefully get them looking better. -

Thanks Leigh. In the past few months I’ve posted a few questions (concerns) about helmets and knives. Also just general question(s) about items I’ve seen at shows, on the forum or other online sites. -

Agree with Unclgrumpy. I hate being so hard on AI info as AI certainly is here to stay and can do some incredible things. When it comes to "understanding" other info it nets online it is seldom reliable - often quoting such "fanciful" statements which have not only zero vetting but are often downright fabrications. Plenty of well-established, detailed info which is now ignored for anything more modern. New collectors want rapid-fire instagram pics info over vetted books. Rant over, Dave -

USCapturephotos, Would you please put the link up for anyone else interested? I have and want to have more CDVs, etc. The technique you mention might be useful for other applications too. TIA! -
