This was the Navy version. No punch, but does have a pen/secondary blade. Harder version to find. This has been sharpened a lot. If you decide to get rid of it please keep me in mind. Btw, you can tell the early Kingston by the main blade & cap lifter/screwdriver being on the same end. Always glad to help if I can, feel free to message me. -

U is a good letter for laundry numbers. It is a rare case when it boils down to a single match thanks to such a rare letter. -

A 4th plate image of a First Sergeant with his rifle, Bayonet, and sword and smoking a pipe. This came from a museum clean out yesterday but sadly it was given to me as there was no paperwork or provenance for the previous museum. It came from an area that was big with the 19th Michigan Volunteer Infantry. Perhaps someone who is a uniform expert for the various states and units could help identify him. Scott -

Did the USMC have the equivalent of the US Army's ADM units that utilized tactical nuclear weapons like the Davy Crockett Weapon System during the cold war? This patch seems to have been produced more recently so is this something else? Anyone know? -

The patina of the EGA doesn’t match the helmet, not too much of a fan of this one -

Just took a look at the April 1945 edition of FM 21-15 Individual Clothing and Equipment Field Manual. It makes no mention of the loop when attaching the Etool to the pack. It may have been added to production subsequent to that addition of the Field Manual be distributed. -

Very nice jacket. Thanks for sharing it. A proud addition to any collection. -

I too have never seen any documentation but I believe that the loop above the adjustable double wire hook on the Etool Carrier was added to allow the top central 5/8 inch bedroll strap on the lid of the M1944 and M1945 Packs to be threaded though for added stability.
