I really love the helmet now that I have it in hand. Tha Major rank insignia looks really awesome. I think this set has been together for a pretty long time, looking at the damage on the cover.

. Hello Johan and earlymb,   First off apologies Johan I was out of ' likes ' so I couldn't add one to you preparations for a Normandy visit in June, I look forward to seeing it.   I saw something for each of you today . . . . . .   Visiting a local Jeeping friend he is busy rebuilding a Ford engine block to put back into his early GPW, a Ford with a Willys chassis.  We looked through his box of inlet and exhaust valves  he has brand new unused stock and also saved take out vales for emergency use if necessary   So Johan,  he had new and used Ford marked inlet valves one of which has the ' F ' on the top face and another take-out one I photographed has the letter ' F ' stamped into the underside of the head, this is also marked ' IN ' for Inlet valve   And something for you earlymb, he has valves with ' Overland ' cast into the underside of the valve head, this one also has ' EX ' cast into the head Exhaust          Norman D. My apologies - meant to make the title “WW2 Gas Mask BAG?”
    • DeadDogClub
Recently purchased at a rummage sale for utilitarian use for $1; seller said he acquired it from someone who told him it was a WW2 respirator/gas mask pack.    I cannot find a match when searching for military packs, gas masks bags, medic supplies, etc.  I expanded my search to vintage lineman canvas storage bags and Boy Scout equipment with no avail.    No ID, names, or insignias except for a stamp on the button a possible “7” in the flap corner.    I was able to find a ww2 bandage bag online with the same buttons (stamped with an ‘s’ inside a triangle/mountain shape).   Any insight is appreciated. It is difficult to capture the true color. It leans more to green than photos appreciate.

Thanks Matt. There are WWII FB groups where you can sell all kinds of stuff.Yes, I definitely don't like the ebay taxes also. They have been collecting those taxes on Gunbroker and that really adds to the total! Thanks for the storage offer. The best I can do for now is put you in the will for the set! LOL. I sent you a PM with more info on the set and how its going to be used in the WWII war trophy book.

I've seen more and more people on the forum buying from FB Marketplace.  I've not looked nor purchased anything from there yet.  Perhaps I should start looking.  I stopped using eBay years ago when they raised all their fees and started taking out state taxes.  I really haven't seen anyone on here say they purchased something off Instagram or another site like that.  By the way, if you need a place to store it just let me know.  I have room...Take care buddy.

Hi Ken, this is brilliant news! As luck would have it, I have a business meeting in Lichfield on the 12th May! I shall certainly visit! Hi Escht, are you in the area that day?! Lunch? Cheers!

Matt - Facebook marketplace is where I found the set. The seller had reduced the price by $200 so I decided to buy it although I really don't have the room around the house to store it! Thanks JT. So they are tent poles.... interesting.

Here’s some examples (Combat & Exprrt) of the “un-official “ Motar and Pig aka the M60. Funny what people will come up with
