Hello,  is this the same kind of button? Is it just a custom tailored uniform that had them? I know most uniforms I’ve seen typically have that grey metal.

It should be noted that Aresta had DUIs made for units for which only drawings of insignia existed, and had no DUIs made. I believe they are listed in ASMIC catalogs as Class E.

It matches the photos I have of a beat up example in my photo reference library (below) so I would say genuine.  Great flea market find.

The oval is wrong for this I'm assuming WW2 era uniform due to the ribbons and honorable service discharge diamond.  With the wide white border that is a post war 1950s era oval not a WW2 era oval.  The correct oval is pictured below.
