They look good to me. I wouldn’t worry about the different brands of zippers. Its not unheard of, I’m pretty sure one of my jump jackets has conmar amd talon zippers 

How sad. I found his obituary. Nothing about him other than he lived and died. Extended family probably took care of everything including cremating him cleaning out the house. CMSgt. is no small accomplishment.

Just curious but where has the winter armor crew combat uniform ever had “M1938” as part of the description?  The armor forces did not even start development of this set until 1940 with it being finalized in early 1942.

I was able after trying a few years to pick up the only known USN ambulance jeep.     Some information on ambulance jeeps.     Some may refer to them as Holden's who is a car company owned by GM in Australia.  These jeeps used a design drawn up by a doctor in the USMC and used group of script Willy's jeeps and can be distinguished from later jeeps by the lower top.   Currently only one is known to exist and just was restored in Europe recently .  Two more groups where done later most likely at Camp Pendleton and have slightly different appearance as mentioned before by the taller top.  To quote Frank Steele these are USMC ambulance jeeps or another person who restored one Jonathon Hires as Holden like.  The first batch done at Camp Pendleton where fords and the medic box was the same as the Holden's.  I actually own one of these Fords.  The second batch which all seem to be Willy's have a different medic box on the side which is slightly larger with an additional area added.     Now to the more interesting part for some or the Navy part.  A few years ago I had the privilege of looking at a pair of ambulance jeeps and another USMC jeep that had the unit markings welded onto the side of the frame.  The owner had previously sold me and a friend a pair of USMC radio jeeps one serial number apart.  This guy is super lucky or skilled at finding USMC jeeps.   The one had PNAB  or pacific navy air base painted on the windshield.  Upon further investigation and sanding Port Hueneme popped up with the Ports and Docks Seabee logo and the number 70.  I will be giving more updates and photos soon
