Probably a rack number. Protective mask were usually checked in and out of a central storage area to keep people from playing with them and damaging them. -

Theory: Robbins accidentally used coin silver for a small batch? My initial thinking upon seeing these was the purpose was to obliterate a Robbins hallmark (Robbins wholesaling their product to other retailers), but agree that this appears to have been an obliteration of the sterling mark. Clearly a genuine badge. Quite mysterious! Warm regards. Chris -

It's "yard sailing season" here in "Pure Michigan" spotted this after several stops prior. A September 1941 dated 75 caliber MK1 Navy round. Not my cup of tea but I couldn't leave it behind. If anyone knows more about it, please share. I originally posted this in the "last finds" section. Any idea as to current value? Thank you in advance and Thanks for looking! OD
