Excellent example. As noted in the comments above by manatee, I would also add that one of the typical tales of Bailey Banks in Biddle manufactured peace is the detail with which the enamel work is executed. You’ll notice the framing of the stars is very crisp and detailed. The enamel work is in inside the framing of the star with no bleed over. -

Hi fellow collectors, What is your opinion on this 101st Airborne Division patch? The tab looks to be a correct WW2 example but the eagle seems a bit off for a WW2 piece. Any info on what era/type the eagle would be and if it is even real would be appreciated. I am looking forward to your opinions. Kind regards, Robert -

Attached is a CS buckle that I recently picked up in a large collection of military items. I know next to nothing about Civil War items but from looking at some CS buckle posts, it seems that they’re all fakes/repros, often meant to deceive. That being the case, I assume this is a repro too but I want to make sure before I part with it as a repro. Any thoughts would be appreciated! -

I found a fairly decent one (no sheath) today at a pawn shop with a bunch of other knives some lady brought in. Other than the tubular Jewell sheath did they make a more traditional sheath for them? I seem to remember that they did but it could have been something homemade that i saw. If so could someone post a pic. Top to bottom: German made M1909 Argentine Artillery Short Sword with matching scabbard and proper frog. India .mil-Proofed Kukri...D D 1964 Swedish (P. Holmberg) knife....Silver-plated steel sheath/handle. Swedish Eric Frost Mora Dress Dagger. US LF&C 1917 Trench Knife. I gave $225.00 for the lot. -

I'm sorry to necropost, but was anything else found out about this patch? I am the unit historian of the 341st Engineer Company, which is the company the 1383rd became after WW2. This post is the only record I can find of the existence of this patch (although I have very few records on anything and have quite a bit of work cut out for me). I assume it is a pocket patch since it represents such a small unit. On the veteran's uniform he wears an 8th Army Patch. -
