Thanks, Nestor, yep, they’re possibilities, too.

What Army WW2 dress blues uniform are you referring to?

Funny memory. Dad bought me some Chuck Taylors in the early 80s when I joined the jr varsity basketball team. The latest all-leather high tops were now out and squeaking away on all the "real" players. As I would run the length of the court to run a play I would slide like I was on marbles! All the wiping of dust, sticky spray, and other tricks did nothing. I could actually hear onlookers laughing at my Keystone Cop-type movements. While I was never really gifted in basketball anyway, that season, as a self-conscious teenager was an embarrassing and frustrating time - just because of the shoes. Have a couple pairs of low tops now but seldom wear them - just not comfortable. Dave

I ended up getting out bid at the very end of the auction. Nobody else was bidding until the very end. I will keep my eye out for others.   Thank you for all of your help. It was interesting.

Thanks always, Cobra, for your knowledge. The meaning of the acronym could be this: The III Corps (III Corps or III Corps Tactical Zone), which covered the Saigon region and the Mekong Delta, III CALC could refer to: III Corps Advisory Liaison Center (III Corps Advisory Liaison Center)

A buddy of mine found this on-line and is flipping it to me. I was able to contact the current owner of Donovan Commercial Industries, Sam Donovan. He is the son of John Donovan who was a contributor to S.O.F. Magazine back in the day.   He was able to confirm that it was one of very few shirts put together for his guys for work and wearing at SOF conventions. Sam is going to look for some period pictures of this type of jacket being worn. The jacket is dated 1969 and of course it is a SMALL. Once I have it in hand I will post more pictures if anyone is interested.

It really depends on which era and what rank you wish to acquire. I don't think, I could give you a definite answer as to what to pay, as prices range and they tend to be more readily available in the US than, say, Europe for obvious reasons and therefor much cheaper :) Just my two cents :D   Kind regards, Jules

Not much to offer on this but MOLLE was a continued evolution even to this day.  Frame material, body structure and most important the stitching was always being upgraded based on use and feedback.  All I really remember about any I had was they had a draw-cord at the top and I used it for stuff I did not need right away.  Sorry, not much help. Also, OCP is the Multicam pattern that came out in 2011 ish.  UCP was the old digital as shown.

True.  The 100% cotton uniforms like these wore out fast and when ironed or pressed the buttons wore circles into the fabric.  I had several sets of the early 100% cotton BDUs sewn closed to keep them looking nice.
