The National ASMIC Show will be in Ohio again this July. It is a great opportunity to see and handle some rare pieces of militaria. The show is open to all, ASMIC members or not. All types of militaria available for purchase or possibly trade. You get to meet some of the well known collectors and dealers in the US. Use the show to meet new people with the same passion for military history. If you have never set up at a show, grab a table and bring your extra items. -

Not sure where this is, France or Italy, does show that different styles of Medical Helmet marking could be seen in the same unit. -

Hi bn1961 and Guest wm727: The "Walt Mt Joy" name on the sheath I believe refers to my Dad--Walter Mountjoy--who served on LST 501. My Dad passed in 1985, but I do remember him talking about his buddy "Messics" who served on the ship with him. My Dad was one if not the oldest guy on the ship at 26-years old. Last thing, I have his US Navy ka-bar knife and sheath just like the one pictured in this thread. If you'd like to discuss, please feel free to contact me.
