Soooo you suspect the markings are fake? Interesting. I’d hate to think I was taken advantage of a couple decades ago for $200. I know little about swords & this was my first purchase. Thanks for your input. S -

old topic on reproduction Hawley liner that Rob Lihani made. Rob is still active on the forum as RobL. You have seen his work in the movie Fury as well for many props. I dont know if he still makes liners but possible he can give some info. I recall reading one make of the fiber liners was using a surgical tubing for the rim and surplus OD T-shirts for the covering. If a t-shirt isnt available, I would think a fabric shop would have some thin shirt like material that could be dyed with a clothing dye like RIT. May have to experiment with mixing dyes to achieve the color wanted. https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/50431-rob-lihanis-reproduction-hawley-liner/#comment-384153 -

Yah, good luck with that. I have no clue if that is actually what it is, the colors just look similar to photos I’ve seen, not sure about construction though. Hopefully it’s legit and someone more experienced will chime in. -
