You do see a wide range of fabrics used, as mentioned they were private purchase items, so usually a higher grade of wool was used and a virtual rainbow of OD green. I would get a visor hat, but a nice overseas hat with officer rank would be good too. and not to toot my own horn, but Toot!  we do have a visor cap available: https://militarycollectorshq.com/store-catalog/ols/products/wwi-us-army-officers-visor-hat-item-4283

Whoops, I forgot I should've added some photos for reference.   https://imgur.com/a/IOga3pc Perhaps I'm overthinking?

Oliver Herbert berg served in the 91st infantry division and was a radio operator in the field.    edward C bell served in pattons 3rd army but no info on what division he served in.   john mark Martin served in Hastings naval ammunition depot in Nebraska and was 2nd in command there.   maybe this will help?

Donna Wosk is a member here (woskmilitary), I think she said they closed shop in 1945. But I'd think "close enough" if it were me!

Curious if this Ryan Aircraft pin can be dated by the card it is attached to. The item isn't mine, but an image I pulled from ebay (only image offered by the seller) and thought it 'might' go nicely with a Ryan Aircraft ashtray from 1953 I have in my collection if the time period is close.

Leigh,   Thanks   Your post answered a multitude of questions.   Tom

Thank you, Allan. Having the job done appropriate to the time-period is something that I am definitely concerned about. Is there anything that you would recommend for the tailor in order to maintain historical accuracy?

Hey Guys,  Just for the Record here, I have no idea who the Seller was, only that I stopped closely watching it when it hit around $250 ? In my ‘cheap’ opinion, I honestly can’t see paying these crazy prices !! Unless of course you happen to possess say a Group which is missing the example for Sale, when only then I might think about it !!           Best,    Dom

I’m trying to find a cap for this uniform. But I think it should be hard to find for that kind of material, since most of them are more greenish.
