I've used Tung oil with good effect.

There is not a single person with the last name YOUGREN that shows up in Find A Grave, so that leads me to believe that what you have here is one of the pendants with an engraving error that was sold off for scrap.   Hope this helps.   Allan

Not sure if the engraving is officially done or privately done. Not sure of the era of which the purple heart is from, WW2 or later. I had bought this many years ago, I could not find that name. Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you John for your comment.  I had a modest collection but surprisingly, I found many of the harder to find knives in a short period of time last year.  I’m hoping that by documenting the variations in these knives (post #118) it might provide a little more information on them.
