The US did the same thing the Germans did after 1943….. they ground the 3 off dies and just used a single “4’ for 1944. Cheaper and quick fix. -

Those are the two types of late war M1C helmets that would have come with the two types of Westinghouse factory liners. Of course things got mixed and matched over the years with other helmets. These are as close to what they should look like for period correct helmets. -

Very cool. I've seen YouTube videos about kits like this: larger turbojets, high-bypass turbofans, and I believe a turboprop (like your turboshaft with a prop gearbox attached). Perhaps you could post a more detailed kit build review in the model building forums. -
