I recently picked up a 1943 Winchester M1 Carbine that appears to be all original save for the stock, the stock is a Springfield Armory potbelly stock, any ideas on the value or how a gun with complete internals got put in an after war stock without getting the other standard updates?

Depending if your near the state border between California and Arizona, you could Consider Joining Historical Unit Of Southern California, or HUSC for short. We do multiple events every month and at least 1 or 2 tacticals every other month. If you’re willing to drive out between LA and San Diego, you’d be able to make it to some solid events. I know Tagt’s pretty far, so it really depends on how committed you are. The unit is very active with multiple full strength units and lots of younger people ages 20–35. We have marines, airborne, 9th ID, navy. Anything  really. Plus they do events out in Arizona frequently.

Wow, just shocked to hear this sad news.  Eric was a pillar of our collecting community and was always willing to share his items and knowledge to those of us who are "less smart"!  RIP Mr. Queen!

Rest in Peace Eric Queen!   Too many of the most knowledgeable people in our Hobby are passing. It's inevitable but will have a lasting impact on the experience we all wish to share and maintain. 

He was always so nice and had some great content. Definitely a loss for the community.

Welcome to the Forum Scott! Great posts on the SV-1 vest and leggings. I have seen several pair of leggings over the years, all new and unused. You said you have never seen any photos of them in use. I am going to go one further. Has anyone ever seen a used pair of leggings?   They all seem to have the same contract number and something I find interesting is both sides have the same NAF part number. I would have thought the 1L for the left and 1R for the right.   Bob
