These have the illusion of being flat but they are actually on the poofy side. I've illustrated the two with the one identified as being authentic and mounted with pin faster assembly. -

I'm thinking it's a post-war reproduction. The very few times I've seen a genuine captured VC flag up close, they were silk and look like they'd been through the wringer (understandable given the tropical environment and being lugged through the jungle). -

Even most of vet-bring backs are “fake”, as they were a very popular souvenir and many were made in VN during the war for sale to GI’s.
