Beautiful lid!! And I actually have a spare liner if I can get this one. I have been looking for one with a follow me stripe for awhile and this one looks better than the others I have seen. One I don’t like as much was listed at $1,200 without a liner. Some of these m1s are running in the German helmet range now it seems like. -

I would pay 360 for this, it's a nice helmet, but it being on ebay is a little nerving. If it's unnamed, I wouldn't even consider it in the 400-600 range which is probably where it will end up towards the end of the bid. -

Found this a few months ago. A guy was selling a huge trove of books owned by a WW1 historian who had recently passed away. I bought the whole library. Among the many gems I found was this Quarter Master band diary. Technically it's not WW1 because it's dated 1920, but it includes a pinned original photo of the soldier who owned it. Just thought I would share. I have never seen another like it. -

I thought I had the only one but I came across another pic of an Eddystone with the same stamp, definitely not a Canadian stamp -

I think waiting may be the choice. Anything really good on ebay for a good price suggests it may have problems. And even I found marked M1 helmets, and I did it going to flea markets and surplus shops and church sales on the bus. -

After some digging I found this photo of the ladies who manufactured the ordnance at this plant. I love these old photo's. I guess the interweb is good for something once in awhile.
