. Hi AG,   Well thankfully it didn't work out like the image you added of Laurel & Hardy, Emmanuel sent me images of the DUKW sailing down the river in the beautiful city of Dinan near St Malo.          Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, May 18  2O25.    ….

Thanks 1901, I appreciate the help. I thought it felt national guardish. I really like the detail that went into these pieces. Always appreciate the help the forum provides. Enjoy your Sunday, Gary

Here's one for sale on FB Mkt out of Frenso, CA. Messaged him and told of interest. Asked IF.. they ship and take Paypal. The reply was , yes. Made an offer and then they , said cash only. Told them no cash from me. They said, "bye", then blocked me, and state it was no longer for sale. Being curious, I used a co-workers FB account to see if it was still listed. Yep! This guy is probably a scammer. Good set of buckles. Aviation Boatswain Mate , US NAVY , 1958-1962 , JACK HORNER

I just looked though this and it's just a bunch of arguing back and forth and a lot of theories. A lot of changed since 2008 and we know a lot more about things then we did back then. I would like to see what others have to say about this badge in 2025.

      1) You are 100% correct, but if you read the title of the post you would know that the time frame covered was from 1966 to 1976. The military specifications for the nylon water canteen cover (MIL-C-43742) were not changed. However, the material used to construct the nylon water canteen cover was. Interim Amendment 4 to MIL-C-7219F, the military specifications for CLOTH, DUCK, NYLON, changed the nylon cloth's color from OG-106 to CAMOUFLAGE GREEN 483 on 4 March 1991 (outside the scope of this original post's time frame).   2) Turner Thurston Manufacturing Corporation is not (and has never been) a United States government contractor. According to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) the company has NEVER received a United States government contract, nor have they ever had a FSCM or CAGE Code assigned to them (which they would HAVE to have to do business with the United States government). Further, Turner Thurston is not a subsidiary or DBA of any past or present government contractor. As I have said before in a different post: the Turner Thurston nylon shotgun shell pouch is NOT a United States Government contracted item (further evidence is that the PII is fictional). Again, the DLA has never contracted the manufacture of a tan LC-2 1-quart water canteen cover for issuance to the United States military.   Craig and I had our suspicions as to who Turner Thurston really was, but to date there is no solid evidence to link him to the fictional corporation (or to Hudgins Manufacturing Corporation and Sorrell Manufacturing Corporation).
