I already reviewed this one with another forum member via PM. This is a one looker in my opinion. Classic 1/5 helmet and an example I would be proud to own. It is interesting that many 1/5 helmets (some with outstanding provenance) have the same bright red outline of the star against a duller red painted square. There has been conjecture on why, but it is safe to say when I see it, I usually like it if everything else adds up. Other aspects of the design and paint on this helmet reflect favorably on this one being good, and a no brainer on that ega, the surface under it and the hole. I would say bid with confidence. Here is the one in my collection for comparison. Good luck. -

The buttons are not exposed. Unbuttoned they give more movement. Just trying to figure out to keep it or send it down the road if it's civilian. Thanks. -

Picked up a couple of these along with an early US Coast Guard "Superior Quality" in a spot where I've picked some good stuff before. I've Included two different pictures of the front of the button with different light intensities. I'm no expert on buttons and the lack of backmark made we wonder if these were later replicas. I've heard that some early/period buttons had no backmarks, but with the good condition of these it made me suspect. Measures 23 mm in diameter Any opinions or info is appreciated. Thanks! -
