So I haven't looked for or picked up anything related to aviation in awhile Matter of fact I'm wanting to scale back a bunch, but I cant help being drawn to  the appeal of the early Army APH 5's, so when a good one pops up on the ever revolving market, it gets my interest. I dont have the Mil Spec number on the rubber edge roll that's featured on this helmet, but it has always set it apart from the garden variety of APH 5's. It's in excellent shape and not chewed up or showing sign of deterioration. This one is molestation free, even down to the original earcups (like the P series helmets) which predated the MX2088 and are in excellent very supple condition The sand textured finish is unique to this model and appealing for one who's interested  in collecting from the early 60s, as that design feature was eliminated for subsequent models later into the war. Note - the chin pad has turned into crumble dust which is common place. Other than some awesome 55+ year old age patina, it's complete and likely un issued. This one will be a keeper among my fav's.
