We inherited this bayonet a number of years ago and are just getting around to decide what to do with it. In doing some research, I'm pretty sure it is a 1913 pattern bayonet made in 9/1917. It has a really nice eagle and bomb with US. It seems these bayonets are often stamped with English markings and the US markings removed, or stamped over. It is paired with a British pattern 1913 leather scabbard stamped H.G.R. (and other info yet to be figured out) which seems like a reasonable scabbard for the bayonet. I guess I'm hoping for confirmation on the bayonet. Thanks. -

Thank you for your detailed reply on this, knowing you're avid collector of items and student of this organization. On the ghosting of that large oval like patch, wonder if there was one for this unit there in Nam that maybe can be matched up with? -

10 year old subject, but here are a couple killer 3rd PI RPPCs I've added to my collection in the last year. Both have crossed axes over the 1st Army insignia, which I am not seeing in my yard long of Company C of the same unit. -

. Funny events these past three days. I found it funny that several posts were made here on the forum in the last couple of days, and I had lunch today with my daughter Lauren, ex-wife Tanya, sister Megan and grand-daughter Aurelia, a family day out. Hello, I was given this at my job and I was told it is a USN flotation belt. Any information about it is appreciated as well as I know little about US militaria. Thanks John
