I have bought two navy Service Medals  with names, and I would like to learn about the service experiences of these two recipients. Since I don't have a payment account that can be used in the United States, I can't use the archives app. So I'm here to ask on the forum. Thank you.

Respectueusement, Sally

Just wanted to post this on here, recently got this beautiful FS FB with an inland helmet liner from the family of the veteran Samuel W. Ballinger, a veteran of Normandy, the battle of the bulge, and Germany, bronze star with oak leaves and other awards. The liner is a mid war green A washer inland in amazing condition with the exterior of it retaining <90% of the original paint, the leather chinstrap is in amazing condition, and is around the brim of the liner, the interior liner where there was not a rat’s nest is in stunningly good condition and if it weren’t for a rat, would’ve been a beautiful liner, the rat has covered it in a red substance and has chewed through some of the webbing and the chinstrap on the shell. The shell is a great condition McCord marked what I believe to be 432 B/D (hard to tell) it retains the original fixed bailed and chinstrap. Overall a beautiful piece of history and the crown jewel of my collection. Attached below are two stories Sam wrote about his experience during the battle of the bulge and his obituary    https://americanveteranscenter.org/2016/02/remembering-uncommon-valor-night-patrol-sam-ballinger/    https://battleofthebulge.org/2014/03/17/after-50-years-sam-ballinger-26th-infantry-division/   https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/samuel-ballinger-obituary?id=16103069

Here's my undated woman's blue jacket and slacks with matching laundry numbers.   Here's a funny thing, I got the jacket since January and only managed to get a pair of slacks just a few days ago, I was so surprised to see the matching laundry numbers on both clothings!   However, the stock no. and fonts color used on the labels are different, maybe she got issued another pair of slacks?

Hi. Being (very) late to this party and not wanting to start a new heading I just wanted to add my little bit of data into the stream. (I would not be surprised if Dustin had already mentioned these bits elsewhere on the forum as he has been the virtual fountain of info on everything WW2 survival as well as a few other advanced collector/historians.) Anyway this is a boxed late war C-1 vest I was lucky to find a couple decades ago. It was missing several key items but was a nice find and a good trade for a WW1 infantry tunic at the time. The vest was missing 1st aid kit, flares, .45 shot-shells, small booklet and I believe only had 1 ration. (No cooking container either but I figured they were no longer being issued.) I have also posted a couple early "Slant Pocket" vests, both missing the color screen print AAF Winged Star and insect repellant pocket. The Cappel-MacDonald having a black line print Winged Star with AIR FORCES and the earlier contract BRESLEE with the same but small, sloppy white logo. Cheers
