It IS an info repository, and a valuable one. Your cartridge is like one my uncle gave me when I was a kid, though I don’t remember the head stamp it had. He was in the Guard, not a collector, so it was probably current issue at that time, early 1970s? Do you have any information on your round? It must be fairly early for the M16? mikie -

It looks to me like a former military (Humvee) ambulance. -

I can’t clearly make out his ribbons, but the 8th Army was active in the southern Philippines, including Cebu, during WWII; and of course, later in Korea. -

If you tell us his name we could try and find some info on him. -

I believe Rock-ola's never had factory adjustable sights. The adjustable sight on your Rock-ola was most likely either put on by a unit armorer or when going through an inspection and rebuild program, replacing the flip sight. -

Hi Beth (Dutton?), I know absolutely nothing about saddles but perhaps you can take a look at this previous post and see if it makes any sense to you. Hopefully, someone that knows more about what you have will answer as well. By the way, in case it is you, I love your new show on CBS. https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/267993-jqmd-1942-saddle-yard-sale-pickup/ -

I'm going to say that the shoulder patch is for the 8th Army, but the photo has been colorized, and the patch colors were done incorrectly. The chevron and overseas bars are also color enhanced, so there is some latitude taken on the actual colors. Allan -

Picked these up today and wanted to verify if they are original or not. Verdigris on the rivets leads to say original. Maker marks look ok, but the color is VERY tan, instead of darker brown as aged leather tends to get. The Sears hanger is magnetic, the Enger Kress hanger is not. Thoughts? Even if they aren't original, I paid $3 a piece for them!
