. Hi Charlie,   Sorry to say that it was actually the 6th of June this year and THAT much interesting stuff was coming and going it was hard work trying to capture as much as I could,  you are correct though that is the early one-piece instrument cluster, the builder I can't say,   should I see it again I will make a point of finding out.     In the late 1970's when myself and friends were buying and restoring GMC trucks we would often find field reconditioned trucks and a mixture of Chevrolet and GMC cabs, engines, engine panels, dash panels with early or late gauges configurations   In the early 1990's there were fields full of GMC trucks in Holland, Belgium and France as the armies disposed of all these old wartime trucks, however a lot of the specialist trucks were retained by these armies, such as these pump trucks, pontoon trucks, bridging trucks, the owner of that truck said it had fairly recently come out of army stocks in the 2000's.             regards lewis.   ...

Check out the set in post 10 and compare it to the set in post 12. Similar pattern. And yes it looks like they took a shot of a real pair for the one on a hanger. Def not the same one as on the mannequin.

Yeah I noticed that as well, but his bio doesn't suggest that.  The star should be on his American Defense Service medal since he was overseas pre-WWII and earned the Foreign Service bar.  I'm betting it's an error with his ribbons.

John's right it is a Robbin's pattern so it would seem White & Co ordered these and had them stamped for resale

. Hi Cobra 6.   Yes that would be SOME SCORE finding one of those or similar.   I just remembered that I took a couple of photographs  for you at a militaria fair here in Normandy in June, a dealer with a mixture of different nationalities.       regards lewis.   ...

Thanks, Lewis for the photos and information.  It looks like the truck is an early one since it has the commercial instrument cluster and the Chevrolet imprinted on the hood sides.  Any idea on which fire truck manufacturer did the body work?  Maxim, Oren and others were in the mix. Charlie

In post #29, the ones in the manikin photo look like repros. The ones on the hanger look like a different set, but the picture quality is so bad it is hard to make out any details.
