Yes, the 1936 order also introduced the lightweight wool (Palm Beach or other tropical wool) that would become standard for post-WW2 khaki/tan "TW" uniforms. https://archive.org/details/us-army-officer-dress-uniform-documents-1936-1937 Also to correct my earlier post, under "Trimming" it should be "white flat braid," not "fat" braid! -

doyler, Thank you for sharing this well-documented Case V42. Out of curiosity I read about how diffiult the assault was on Monte La Difensa , lives lost, and brutal weather. The provenance that this V42 dagger comes with is priceless! -

Thank you for the information. I thought the dress white uniform prior to the m38, was the m1895 but I wasn’t sure. I knew there was the m36 blue dress uniform, but I didn’t know the white one also changed that year. -

Thanks a lot for your comment. Here's another one , a fine quality hat with a comparatively small visor. Sadly name and date are difficult to read... -

I agree. The design on the helmet certainly has a Freikorps flavor. Several Freikorps units used a swastika design. That's a very neat looking helmet. I wish there were more and better pictures. -
