Recently one of my firework collector contacts who is a gunsmith has been deactivating these for me to latest home office specification . Still retains original loads but all powder content and primers have been dealt with and weight made up with sand. Small hole drilled into primer as visual to being deactivated. It was some of the trapshooting cartridges that have gone into the Air Gunners exhibition at Elvington. The solid ball were designed as a way of beefing up the effect of a shotgun at close range, they contained a 16 guage single ball with extra wadding to allow for good pressure behind the ball whilst not damaging the barrel of the shotgun. Issued to the Home Guard, Many years ago I had a box with instructions that read For use against low flying enemy planes and enemy parachutists. All of these came from the gunsmith after he had done what was required to them. The Eley Rocket are a tracer version to help the shooter see where their shot has gone , specially designed by Eley to help trainee gunners learn how to lead a target. -

Yes, it is an odd duck that no one can explain. I have one just like it and they are fairly scarce. I have seen bad ones, but this one seems like the legitimate Meyer. John -

Google Lens says this is a WW2 US Army Air Force Gunner medal. Is that accurate? Is it a copy? The eagle and suspension ring are molded together, and not separate parts. -

Just saw this. Willis & Geiger made these perfect repros in late ‘90s. Bedford Cord NA-1 Summer Flying Jacket. I love mine. Hit eBay and search what I wrote above. I’ve seen 1-2 over the years. -

. Hi mikie, well I don't think I have added these two Bulge ' winter ' scenes before, so just for you, you can try and do a Then & Now between the television scenes and the trees in my stills from the set. That's a Polish friend Marcin that visited the set. Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, 19 April 2O26. ..
