Active Young Marine here, and some have stayed the same. (Going left to right) He had the qualified field ribbon, organized unit trip ribbon w/ silver star (6 awards), unknown ribbon, a perhaps older variant of the Physical fitness ribbon, and then the junior leadership ribbon. @Gear Fanatic see if your friend can tell the one i can’t quite tell. It might be an older version of the basic ribbon. -

Thank you very much for your kind comments. To answer a few quetions: - the fence has been done thanks to 3D swirls and spikes, the rest from evergreen rods and strips. - all my modeling practise is only to pay tribute to those who liberated my parents. -

Have any of you installed a barrel on a Garand? I’ve run into a problem trying to mount the barrel. The barrel screws into the receiver and comes to a hard stop about 15-20 degrees off from where it should. It doesn’t seem possible that it can screw in any farther. I have two front receiver pieces and it’s the same problem for both. Any thoughts or ideas? mikie -

Hey, if your interested in the bars I could ask my friend who’s a YM, they might still be the same. -

Today’s rainy day find. Never seen anything like it, the man told me he wore it from ages 7-9 but never joined the marines. Take note of the ribbon bars, he couldn’t remember what they stood for. -

Thanks for the reply. It is at least a starting point for research! My grandpa had this thing for 20+ years. I figured I should check on what it is since he also had an 1855 pattern Richmond arsenal Confederate bayonet.
