@jsand -  Any buckle that I acquire has to be 100% original so any type of remake would not even be considered and since my collection is super small it would be highly unlikely that I would consider a trade.  Regarding a Fort Mills buckle, being patient is the key as you never know what other buckles may surface in the coming months / years.

Don’t plan on selling this item. But with it being ID’d to a raider that was on Guadalcanal and was later awarded a PH I feel there has to be a pretty scarce item and probably pretty valuable with the raider connection. Just a ballpark would be helpful. I would only ever let go of this for a really nice trade. But in order to know that I need to have an idea of value on this item. Thanks and let me know!

I forgot to credit the Stewart's militaria site for the image.

Thrift store find a few days ago. Found in the hobby/sewing section. Didn't even pull them out till I got in the car!  All for $1.00!!!  2 of the college patches are for a college in Japan, thought that interesting.

Here's a lucky find, and a curious one, a box of 6th Infantry Division patches that are dated September 1968, made around two moths after the division was inactivated. We guess a contract went out sometime in the fall of 1967 to start making this division patch again, and despite the division  no longer was around, company and or companies kept making then till the contract ran out,   Would love to knew if a contract went out in lates-sh 1967 to make subdued versions of this 6th Div patch on Twill or Sateen, we imagine, OD Star with a Black Border or the typical period variant  of OD main patch with OD Border.

That's a nice piece of trench art with a story to boot!  I agree with aznation that the "S.F." was related to the compass manufacturer. Thanks for showing us this.     Steve

Thanks guys, lots of variations.  Can't imagine one guy having so many different ones, so I assume it was someone's collection.  The necklace really drew me to the lot.
