Hey Iron Bender, our experts opinion is that the saddle tree's are period, the swords are period, though some have been rewrapped or restored to varying extents, and that the accouterments like bridle, stirrups, and boots are a mix of period and style. Still an awesome collection though, we usually do not get militaria, so its been so fun for me to go through all the saddles, doing research on them and hearing from the experts!

Isn't the leather stamping kit that was used to make those markings the Model of 1910 Leather Stamping Kit?

Maybe. Or maybe it never left the armory.

. Normandy Finds WWII Medical field.   Back in 2012 I reported on finds we had made in a neighbours field that had been used as a hospital field in WWII.  I found a short German barbed wire stake, initially looking at it in the ground it appeared damaged as the bottom plate was bent away from the upright stake. To my amazement when I removed it from the ground the bottom plate had been purposely angled away from the stake and painted on the underside with ' CLASS 4 '.  Yesterday whilst visiting Philippe owner of the Collins museum I saw that his son had also recovered an identical German stake from the same field two months ago but painted with ' CLASS 3 '.  Philippe also told me another friend had recovered a ' CLASS 2 ' plaque.   The Medical classification chart was found on Ben Majors medical website.              Norman D. . military Vehicle Parade Carentan  06 June 2025.   Amongst the convoy were two WWII veterans on board a Dodge weapons carrier, they were surrounded and applauded every time the convoy stopped. I managed to hand USN veteran Milton Ripple a WWII USN Pull-Match packet.              Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, June 13  2O25.    ….

In for an answer too.  I’ve seen no inspiring copies either.
