Hi Ken You seem to have previous form with this. My memories are a bit vague about it all now but back in the mid 80's I broke down in my jeep in the Dudley area. I can't remember how it all came together but the end result was you turned up with a replacement coil and in no time I was back on the road. Think we weren't too far from your place. No idea how we knew it was the coil or how you got involved, maybe I rang Andy Jones and he got in touch, or might have been I got in touch direct. Anyway, thank you for your roadside assistance. It is, it was in my answer above. Most all the coastal bases in the 50-60s seemed to have one Randy -

Thank you, Allan. I woke up today thinking about D-Day and all those brave men who sacrificed their lives for the benefit of millions. We need more history teachers like Sherman Oyler! -

. hi mikie, sadly this is the one week of the years that all the business's need to take extra money , because the winter trade is dire with no tourists, twenty coffee's a day won't cover the running costs of these places, its so sad when everyone including local vehicle owners, vehicle owners who have travelled long distances when it rains like it has these last few days. On the way home this evening we saw a broken down Jeep and U-turned back to see if we could help them , myself and my London Jeeping friend did our best to help, we checked all the fuel lines, we checked all the points, coil, condenser, it was turning over well and the flash on the points was something I could only dream off ( theirs is 12 volt and mine is 6 volt ), well whatever they had been doing and whatever we tried couldn't get it running so towing was the last option. I carry a five foot trowing bar strapped across the rear of the Jeep I was concerned about the location they had broken done being a narrow road, I towed them forward and made a U-turn further up the road and took them back to the carpark of the town supermarket in Ste Mere Eglise. There they would have access to food, drink, toilets etc, and an ideal location for other vehicle fiends to find them . as we left I asked them not to mention my name to their other friends as I didn't want a bad reputation about helping people spread about. I disagree whole-heartedly. Any collector who would ask me whether they should buy this wing for their collections, I would give them a firm "no." I think this wing was made at least 70 years after the end of the war and more likely 80 years after. Allan -

Speaking of doggies, I found this print at a second-hand store last week. I fell in love with it instantly. The dog looks just like Gunji Boy! It was only $6.00 US, so it is now hanging in our house. -

I hope the weather cleared up for the Big Day like it did in 1944. If not, I hope you enjoyed yourselves anyway. Say hi to the doggie for me if you see it again. I haven’t seen my boys all week ☹️. mikie -

Oh that’s a hoot. My wife and daughter have those things on their Crocs. Only hearts and flowers, etc. And speaking of Crocs, I got my first pair a couple of weeks ago. They are pretty comfy. mikie
