The Evarts never operated as a cargo vessel. It was modified and completed as a troopship immediately after launching.     Source:  Liberty Cargo Ship, James Davies, ww2ships.com

Hi Ken The mirror heads are unfortunately copies. However they are a very good copy, and have the 'dull' reflection like the originals. I took the 3 he had! There are also some copy body work panels, screen frame and top hat sections. I grabbed what he had, as my project is a bit of an unknown. The body needs a lot of work! There are, however a lot of lovely take off items there. I did spot a few 'F' stamps too! Cheers! Graham

. The flags are out everywhere for D-Day . . . . . . .  Sadly the grey rain laden skies are evident in the photo's.        Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, June 02   2O25.    ….

. Sunday morning  coffee before the week's Chaos begins.  Five minutes after this photo the heavens opened and the torrential downpour arrived.  As I don't carry a canvas roof I just continued sitting there and watching while drinking my coffee, and my ' snake-oil ' coating was working its wonders repelling the downpour.      Norman D. . Hi Lee,   yes I remember well the day we met at Tom & Sharons, Tom certainly had a knack of finding amounts of surplus, some of the trips we went on sometimes became scary as some of the closed stores were in parts of towns that had become the wrong side of the tracks.   I do remember one motel room we shared in a very scary neighbourhood Tom placed his pistol on the bedside table between our beds and the lamp was left on all night above the pistol, this was back in pre computer days so we never knew what a place looked like until we arrived there and the motel rooms were booked over the phone. We then changed our operation and stopped pre-booking and drove around finding suitable accommodation.    Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, June 02   2O25.    ….

I did buy one of these bayonets around 30 years ago from SARCO. I think they were $29 and they were solid. But mine would not fit in my  AR15. It was close and I could have made it work. It sold the first day at a shop I sold knives. I would buy another one for $29; Dennis aka nifman

"You have chosen wisely" Now just get rid of all that 'other' stuff! Have been an old 'rag picker' for 40+ years now. Alot easier to store and move around if needed! But when you get 30 odd variations and types of the 1st Div alone, you start to wonder! ASMIC is a very good place/group to join also. We even have a collector or two from Belgium that show up at the ASMIC yearly convention most years. Here are a few more 1st Div examples to look for!
