35th Division.  I believe the colors may indicate 137th Infantry Regiment.  Perhaps someone can confirm.

Yup 35th infantry! Examples. Even though yours doesw not show up in these examples.. there were many different examples to be found. These charts are not the whole list.  

It’s the Santa Fe Cross of the 35th Infantry Division, with a regimental identification via the yellow-colored quadrant.     AI needs to read some books…

These are all WW2 vintage to the best of my knowledge.  Tthe MTBRON patches are consistent with the construction of other WW2 era patches

This is my great great uncle Carl Barsgard’s helmet from WWI. He was born in 1888, so he older than most who would have been in the infantry. Chat GPT and Google are struggling with the symbol. Any ideas?!   Thanks,   Shannon
