. Barn Find 1990.   Hi Kevin, Johan and earlymb,   yes wartime RAF vehicles were painted green during WWII as shown in this wartime colour photograph of a Morris Light Armoured Reconnaissance Car.    Back in the early 90's when we used to drive around farming area's looking for Jeeps, this was one of the barn find vehicles we found in a farmers barn, sadly didn't do anything about it, as it was only Jeeps and Jeep parts we were looking for.      Norman D. Thanks for the awesome info guys! I was told the poles are some sort of antenna. I haven't tried to research them yet.

Greasing up the Jeep... If all goes as planned I will be taken the GPW to Normandy in June for the first time since 1999.... So an oil change and applying grease was today's job in preparation of the trip....

Very nice Amcraft badge, I personally always liked these. However, no, this is NOT a pre war badge. This wing badge conforms to the 1942 change to wing regulations of a series of small feathers in the shoulders. These small feathers quickly transitioned to the “berries” that are associated with 1942 onwards that we are so familiar with. In my opinion, this wing, and a few other designs that are similar, are a transitional designs that directly conformed to the change. Regarding the snowflake back, other insignia by Amcraft, such as DI’s had the same back pattern in WWII. Hope that helps, nice wing, solid WWII. John

. Hi Kevin,   I think there's plenty on the internet about it's arrival and month long display in Litchfield    I was amused that Jane is retiring after 47 years as a computer programmer, I think I can top that with 47 years of anguish and misery caused by computers . . . . . Best wishes to you both and be careful that you don't end up strangling one another spending more time together.  🤣 🤣   Sincerely best wishes to you both in retirement.      Norman D. Morning Ken, thanks for the heads up on this. No I hadn't seen anything saying it was arriving at Lichfield. Last  had heard was last year when it was announced it was hopefully coming. I will make sure to call in at some point. Busy few days with Jane retiring today after 47 years of being a computer programmer. Her workplace have organised a farewell lunch for today. Then next week it's her birthday so can see my free time is going to be curtailed somewhat. Kev
