Very cool piece. I have some USS Marblehead groups and I have never seen that medal before. I appreciate groups to men who were in the Asiatic fleet when the war began.   Kurt

Where was this? I've missed good flea markets since I moved away from Northern California. Laney Community College, Alameda Peddlers Fair, Sacrament Antique Street Fair, Marysville Flea Mart, Denio's - Roseville, just to name the ones I have can think of right now. Eastern Washington has nothing like those up here.  Great glider picture! I'd have picked that up for $5.

Amateur collector, ex-cop, gun nut and currently a military contractor that helps design and test new weapon systems. I have 10 years playing World of Tanks on Xbox.  I recently inherited some uniforms that I think have historical significance. I'll post some pictures soon and see what you think.

That was super helpful. You nailed it. I think the texture/construction  of the flag threw me. Thanks for the help atb.

There's a long post in the WW1 category all about First Army WW1 SSI. It shows examples. Yours has a badly proportioned orange device that represents Signal Corps units assigned to First Army. See the aforementioned post to verify.

I attended the monthly flea market today. I am proud to say that despite seeing a few militaria things I would have otherwise wanted to buy or at least ask the price of, I walked away without any of them! But I did find this nifty brand new straw hat for only $5.00 US! I needed a new hat and this was perfect.  mikie
