Understood. Thank you for commenting. I still want to be able to share the history. So just to be clear, As long as I am not performing any sort of religious services it is okay and respectful? Would putting on the uniform be to far or not? As a chaplains assistant likely? I want to make sure I’m doing it respectfully If that isn’t out of line. Thanks you. -

I am an ordained minister and just retired as an Army chaplain after 30 years of service. Prior to that, I was a chaplain assistant for three years. I am very thankful for those who tell the chaplain story. Displaying artifacts and/or dressing as a chaplain helps tell the story of chaplains for the past 250 years. Chaplains do more than just religious services. Pray, offer advice and so much more. All Chaplains also provide absolute confidentiality. This is much like the Roman Catholic confession (Sacrament of Reconciliation). There are serious legal implications in State and Federal law that only Chaplains can do. You cannot reenact this. Jewish, Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Muslim Chaplains have strict requirements for their religious services. Some Protestants also have strict requirements. In movies, you hardly see an entire service. For God and Country, you saw Reagan portray a priest during part of a Mass. But no one took the sacrament. Chaplains conduct religious rites, ordinances and sacraments. These are sacred acts that represent the transcendence to the service member and their families. To perform them you must be endorsed by a religious group. Even lay leaders are supervised by a chaplain. If you are not ordained, you could explain the service and its impact, but I recommend not doing the service unless you are ordained. Thank you again for telling the story. -

. we went to a street flea market on Sunday morning, I was surprised to see something I can't say I have ever seen before, especially here in Normandy, what appeared to be a Russian artillery shell case. Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, July 12 2O25. ... -

. . Hi Graham & Gear fanatic Hi both it's all lasting memories for the students involved, afraid it didn't happen when I left school, a different time period we left school on a Friday and everyone started work on the following Monday. About fifteen years ago it was my daughters prom, a friend from Camberley had an M-8 six wheel armoured car which we took Lauren to her school prom, it really was something different to all the other methods of transport the others were dropped of in, I suppose it could be literally be said to have blown them away., Staying with friends this evening I can't presently find any images of the evening Norman D. Hello all, A couple years ago, I acquired this knife. Stamped into its handle on one side is "YOUNGSTOWN O.K.S." and on the other side is "ARBEIT.LIEDERTA(?)" - the "(?)" potentially being an additional, faintly-stamped letter. In my searches, I discovered Youngstown in Niagara County, New York held German prisoners of war from North Africa and Europe in 1944-45. Any assistance regarding the markings or additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration! Sincerely, Grant -
