Dear VM188, Thanks for your opinion. This image is still interesting. You would think the photographer might have told him to comb his hair first! -

I do know that early on these army style one piece camouflage jumpers were issued to Raiders since there was a shortage of USMC P42’s. This didn’t last long and I only know of these being used in training in 42/43, usually the pictures are in SoCal, or in Australia. There are a few pictures. But I don’t know why one would have USMC buttons? Maybe they are replaced. -

The helmets they wore then, just like yours manyunkman, had a dress emblem (shiny brass) instead of the dark service emblem. Makes sense when you figure they wear a dress emblem when wearing their white barracks covers. Steve -

I figured since I’m here in Europe spending some time…I’ll keep an eye open for “unique” US patches. -

I finally got around to photographing a jacket I've had for some time with some fantastic insignia that our community might find of interest. It's a M50 with extensive modifications, two Rod and Gun Club patches from Bavaria, and a massive patch on the back. Enjoy! -

Very nice. A variation I have never seen. Looks Japanese-made to me. -

I have a M17 Binocular with case. I see striations in the right side that go from 0 - 20 in the vertical and also some across the bottom with no numbers. I am going to assume that this is some kind of ranging system. Are there any instructions available in their use?
