This is a direct quote from Joe *************** book (page 136) on hallmarks (FM 82-102 Field Guide to Hallmarks and Button-backs of US Military Insignia):   "Gordon's Fort Meade IOH 5D, 13G, G13, M24 Military Manufacturers of Maryland (by Gordon's Fort Meade - M24) Yale Gordon Enterprises   Products were sold under three names as listed above. The business was started in 1964. It is not known when they stopped."

I figured out what this jacket was shortly after making the original post, thanks to the forum search. I bought it in 30 minutes distance from Caddo County. I believe I’ve identified the original owner, who is buried in Caddo County, but my research trail has gone cold. Aside from his enlistment record, I haven’t been able to find anything about his service. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should look next?

It’s also very common for US soldiers to write stamp or embroider the last four digits of their serial number in their clothing.    Where did your information come from?    Where do I need to go to see what you found to draw these conclusions?
