It seems there are 2 separate Rue Maurice Blot, strangely both within the municipality of  Rouen. So at least his name is not forgotten, they just put up new signs. But I do agree these old signs would make a nice memorial.

Sadly it's impossible to save everything.   Visiting a street flea market there was a plastic tray of enamelled street signs , all of them showing wartime dates.  These were all post war street names honouring men that had probably served in the French resistance and lost their lives during the occupation.   Back home I googled the name on the first plaque shown and he died aged 49 in 1944, a member of the Black mountain free corps.   Maybe it would be a nice memorial to these men to see an entire wall in a museum displaying all of these.        Norman D.
