Good luck on the FRAMING, I am still researching the best way to display.   Have talked to a few curators and Chinese silk museum professionals, They all tell me DONT do it, as just the weight of the material can cause separation overtime, Also all the high end professional archival businesses wanted to use some way to secure it too the backboard!!!! Just as reference I have decided to just go with gravity, NO Pins or Thread to damage it. When done it will be a large shadow box type encloser with hinged front clear panel (probably UV Safe PlexiGlass). I will have the backboard set at angle of say 10 to 15 degrees leading back so the BANNER can simply lay in place with no pinholes or damage at all. May also have it set with the BLACKOUT Glass that is now available, blacks out to solid black with a flip of a switch that way I can keep it out of the light and view when needed LET me know how the framing works out as i am very interested on the process you chose  

I've never heard of this but would certainly be open to seeing documentation.     Yes, I'm one of the former service members who has posted about this on the forum!  My point wasn't that every jungle fatigue uniform was worn in Vietnam, but they were a uniform that was issued/worn in limited circumstances and are not nearly as common as ACUs.  Jungle fatigues were absolutely worn in CONUS during the 1980s but this isn't what they're associated with in the collecting community.  They're associated with Vietnam, which drives the collector interest (and therefore the value, even for a plain set).

Sweet!  Great pieces of history. I have yet to appraise it.  I know Engineer and Communication banners that are unsigned go for 8k+, so I'm sure this is up there a good bit.  I can't wait until the framing is complete.
