Good question but believe not a very large unit to begin with. Who has really heard of this in the first place? -

Quite a group! Was it an Army or Navy DSM he was awarded? What’s the rim # on that Army DSM? -

Here's what I have, all SRS era. A couple were taken during water survival school. The shirt is from an old eBay sale. I have the EMAT patch as an unknown, but always thought it was flying training related as that was the big motto then, though it does look like the 301st. Maybe a hat patch? The lighter proves that anything cool will be used whenever someone wants it most likely. I have never seen an actual 4082 CES patch though, but this looks like a straight rip... -

I recently purchased this oxygen mask from a surplus store and it is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It has a green silicone mask with seems to be from a MBU-12/P or MBU-14/P and has a circular stamp with the numbers 71, 72, and 73. I used AI to see if it could find anything and it was stumped. However from all the research I’ve done my guess is that it may possibly be a test model or pre production prototype of some kind? Its construction is somewhat crude in some areas but the plastic shell seems to be manufactured and looks very professionally assembled. It holds a seal. Additionally the surplus store I purchased this from is very close to Wright Patterson AFB which may explain it being possibly a test model. I would love to have this piece identified because it really is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. -

Given how many millions of the spiral wool puttees were made, its not unusual to find them with a lot of variations in color, weave, length, and how the ends were folded, sewn, and finished. Some have maker tags etc. The color variations are the most interesting; from a mustard olive to a true tan khaki to dark forest green, light brown, and about a hundred shade variations of olive green!
