Hey everybody. I have a friend making a Vietnam War SEALS impression for reenacting. He's trying to be as accurate as possible. He wants to know if Converse shoes were common with SEALS during the war. He hears that it WAS, but he has only seen 1 or 2 photos of it. If you know, and have photos of it, please send them. Thanks! I framed a couple a few years back. Used Pictureframes.com. You can order mats, frames, acrylic, etc to size. They have some specials now and again where you can find stuff on sale. They used to run a free shipping sale, which translated to pretty good savings on a frame this large. Pretty easy to put it all together as long as you have measured correctly. Cheaper than taking them in to have them framed professionally. You can also compare prices to Michaels if you have that hobby store around. Michaels will run 50% off on their framing occasionally and might be cheaper.. -

<400> is 12th Marines, the division's Artillery Regiment. 444 should be K Battery, 12th Marines. We're going to start restoration on an M-2-4 1-ton truck here at the museum from H&S Battery, 12th Marines and it is marked <401> on both sides of the hood and on the tailgate. It saw combat on Guam and Iwo Jima and has the bullet holes to show for it. -

Yes. It is usually called a Red Navy. They were marked that way at Mare Island. That ammo pouch is fairly rare too. -

Here’s a Vietnam fake that I purchased years ago, before I knew anything about these common and ugly attempts to deceive: It would now be easily recognized as a fake. -

Could we see the tag in the uniform? The UIM looks to be late 80's early 90's onward. -

Tried that, wasn’t sure is someone had a good source. I found a few on Amazon and google already.
