Following this thread, I have a pair of RRS (Russian Railway Service Corps) collar insignia. They are 1 11/16" X 1/2". -

Many years ago I picked up from the vet himself a luger with his SSN etched on the side. Now, seeing this one, it makes for sense. It also came with a decaled Heer helmet and some insignia. All gone now. Steve -

Hello everyone. I live on the old continent. English isn't my everyday language, so don't shoot me if there's a mistake. I'm almost retired and now have more time to dedicate to collecting. Almost every year I go on vacation to Normandy, and that's where my interest in collecting WWII jump wings began. That's why my forum name is... 😁 My jump wing collection isn't that large, but it's growing. I have thousands of photos on file of as many variations as possible. I hope to learn new things here on the forum; it seems there's a lot of knowledge about jump wings on this forum. So, here's my first post on this forum. -

No veteran name came with the group. I will try to translate the ID card, and writing in the helmet. -

Thanks, I am able to return or exchange it. I guess for now I am stuck with my painted over 4 panel but at least that one I know 100 is original. Much less valuable than an original that wasn’t covered up. But pretty cool either way. -

Another paint (and my personal favorite) for all things is the Crafters collection Olive green from Hobby lobby. It’s super cheap ( only 50 cents per 8 oz.) and you can mix it with some black to get amazingly good OD colors and you can slightly tint it, make it lighter or darker. Plus it’s pretty strong if you coat it and doesn’t peal. You can also water it down to spray it. It’s very versatile and I use it for everything. Like literally EVERYTHING. It’s great. In the surface out of the bottle it looks bad, but trust me it looks great. For example here’s a chaplain liner I did recently. The base layer is made from this paint and it looks Great in my opinion. -

Yah, I think that’s what may have been the case. 35 years ago this was a very convincing fake. And like you said, helmets weren’t as scrutinized and looked at so carefully as they are today. Because then people weren’t “out to get ya” you know? Fakes weren’t really a thing. It also wasn’t necessarily profitable then because helmets weren’t a lot cheaper and still sorta considered surplus. I don’t doubt Coy knew his stuff. But this one isn’t the real deal. I hope you are able to figure out what to do with this helmet. Good luck 👍 -

In 1993 at Fort Hood, I was issued two black felt MP Brassards with white lettering at CIF. I was issued one green brassard with black letters by my unit for field use. I private purchased my black letter brassard.
