Thanks, but I would think the engraving would not be official? He was probably just wounded? Did a private engraver mess up, just the question I have now. 

I agree with @Allan H. this pendant was sold off for scrap. This is the individual whose family it would've been sent to. 

Wonder what else the lawer got away with, so sad. Any pics of the SKS? Would love to see that one.

I've used Tung oil with good effect.

There is not a single person with the last name YOUGREN that shows up in Find A Grave, so that leads me to believe that what you have here is one of the pendants with an engraving error that was sold off for scrap.   Hope this helps.   Allan

Not sure if the engraving is officially done or privately done. Not sure of the era of which the purple heart is from, WW2 or later. I had bought this many years ago, I could not find that name. Any help is much appreciated!
